【SUMMARY】
Recently, the active pharmaceutical ingredients of pentoxifylline, levornidazole, and ornidazole, submitted by Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, were approved by the National Medical Products Administration and may now be officially used in marketed dosage forms.
With the arrival of the Start of Summer, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group is reaping the rewards of its R&D and innovation efforts. Recently, Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group, received approval from the National Medical Products Administration for the active pharmaceutical ingredients of pentoxifylline, levornidazole, and ornidazole, enabling their official use in marketed dosage forms. Notably, pentoxifylline is the second such approval granted to a domestic pharmaceutical company, while levornidazole is the third.
According to reports, pentoxifylline preparations are primarily used to treat peripheral vascular disease and cerebrovascular insufficiency. Levoornidazole and ornidazole preparations are mainly indicated for the treatment of various infections caused by susceptible anaerobic bacteria.
From January to May this year, Shijiazhuang Sihua Pharmaceutical Group achieved remarkable results in research and development. To date, a total of 16 new product projects have been approved, and 24 projects have been submitted for review.
