Guangxiang Pharmaceutical of Shisiyao Group Has Been Recognized as the Cangzhou City Technology Innovation Center

【SUMMARY】 Recently, Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. of Shisiyao Group was recognized by the Cangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau as the Cangzhou Fluid-Form API Technology Innovation Center.

Recently, Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. of Shisiyao Group was recognized by the Cangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau as the Cangzhou Fluid-Flow API Technology Innovation Center. This marks another innovation-driven technological platform established by the company, following its 2020 designation as a provincial-level R&D institution for industrial enterprises, a postdoctoral research workstation, and a provincial-level engineering research center for microreactor-based continuous synthesis of APIs.

Guangxiang Pharmaceutical is a large-scale domestic API industrialization base established in the Bohai New Area through investment by Shisiyao Group. Leveraging the opportunities presented by the coordinated development of the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region and implementing its “One Core, Two Wings” development strategy, the company has strategically positioned itself at the upstream end of the industry chain. With a focus on bulk APIs such as caffeine, metronidazole, theophylline, aminophylline, and nifedipine, it also undertakes the production, R&D, and export of dozens of high-value-added specialty APIs, including arbidol, pentoxifylline, rosuvastatin calcium, and pitavastatin calcium.
Since the commencement of construction on the Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Project of Shisiyao Group in October 2017, the company has leveraged its robust R&D and innovation capabilities to focus on the independent development of specialty and high-end active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), as well as on breakthrough technological innovations in API synthesis. Efforts have been continuously intensified to accelerate the R&D efficiency of new API–formulation combinations and to drive further innovation in API synthesis technologies, with a strong emphasis on raising quality standards, reducing material, energy, and environmental consumption, and thereby supporting the enterprise’s innovative, green, and high-quality development.

The “Cangzhou Fluid-Phase Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient Technology Innovation Center” being established this time will primarily leverage microchannel reactor technology to intensify key steps in existing conventional batch synthesis routes, transition to continuous processing, and thereby advance the industrial application of green chemistry, enhance reaction efficiency, and reduce production costs. At the same time, by leveraging the Innovation Center’s platform, the initiative will actively collaborate with numerous domestic research institutes to establish joint R&D entities, accelerate the cultivation of high-level innovative talent and foster technological exchange, and continuously strengthen independent innovation capabilities and standards.
According to reports, in order to implement the Cangzhou City Three-Year Action Plan for Scientific and Technological Innovation and in accordance with the Measures for the Establishment and Administration of Cangzhou City Technical Innovation Centers, the Cangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau organized the 2020 municipal-level technical innovation center accreditation process. Following preliminary review, expert evaluation, deliberation at the Director’s Office Meeting, and public announcement, a total of 27 entities were newly accredited as Cangzhou municipal-level technical innovation centers, including Hebei Guangxiang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. of Shisiyao Group, designated as the “Cangzhou Municipal Fluid-Form API Technical Innovation Center.”

In accordance with the relevant requirements of the “Administrative Measures for the Establishment and Management of Technological Innovation Centers in Cangzhou City,” all implementing entities are required to establish and manage their respective technological innovation centers, proactively accept oversight and performance assessments by the competent authorities, increase R&D investment, actively engage in the research, development, and commercialization of new technologies and products, cultivate and attract innovative talent and teams, and provide technical support for the innovative development of enterprises and the industry.
